My Darling Dakota:

“There is no greater sorrow than to recall a happy time when miserable.”

That is how I feel tonight, my love, as I sit with you, holding your hand and remembering the times we shared. How I long for you to open your eyes and gaze upon me with love. I ache to hear the melody of your voice.

Where are you, my love? Why have you forsaken me? I fear I cannot win this battle or finish this fantasy without you.

As I write to you tonight, I pray you will forgive me. I have erred. My hunger for you has driven me to the brink of madness, and I did not wait for the proper cue. Instead, I forged ahead, tossing aside my script and wallowing in my own self-pitying pleasure.

A minor setback, for I will not fail you, my heart. Your beauty shall be forever embellished upon the hearts and minds of all that read our story. They will know that you were the Divine.

He gently touched the broken and scarred side of her face. Their story had an irony he saw in moments of clarity. Had she not taken him from his work, he would have already known how to heal her.
